Volunteer Engagement Coordinator

Focus area: Volunteer program development, program assessment, community outreach, marketing, fund development

​Location: Roebuck, SC

Population served: Disadvantaged homeowners

Goal of the Project:  The VISTA will work t
o improve the services offered to elderly, disabled, and otherwise disadvantaged homeowners, to provide for their continued safety and independence. The VISTA will develop a Veterans Program, as well as cultivate volunteerism through the implementation of a tracking and mobilization strategy. This project will also include the implementation and oversight of a new City of Spartanburg Priority Program set to begin in 2017.

Skills Needed: Strong communication skills, writing/editing,  program development, community organization, public speaking, fundraising / grant writing, proficiency in computers / technology, leadership, marketing, social media, data collection / analysis, volunteer recruitment / management, research skills.

Required Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 
Fluent in written and spoken English.  Excellent oral and written communication skills. Highly organized. Self-motivated. Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to follow through.

Preferred Qualifications: Social media proficiency. Capable of handling multiple tasks with competing priorities. Ability to meet deadlines while anticipating quickly changing needs. Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, a professional demeanor, and to represent the organization in a positive manner at all times. High level of dependability.
