EMERGE Family Therapy Center
​Fundraising Coordinator

Focus area: Fund development, event planning, community engagement, organizational assessment

​Location: Spartanburg, SC

Population served: Low income adults in need of mental and/or behavioral health services

Goal of the Project:  EMERGE Family Therapy Center (formerly West Gate Family Therapy Institute) 
seeks to address the mental health provider deficit in Spartanburg County by providing counselor training and mental and behavioral health services to low-income adults. Last year, EMERGE hosted over 10,000 therapy sessions, significantly impacting the community. As our VISTA, you will focus on increasing our organizational capacity to provide affordable care through fundraising. You will work with an event committee to plan and execute our first annual fundraiser. You will develop an annual report format, based on best practices. You will create and implement a donor care strategy and pursue grants to provide additional funding.

Skills Needed: Strong communication skills, writing/editing,  public speaking, fundraising / grant writing, proficiency in computers / technology, leadership, marketing, social media, research skills.

Required Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 
Fluent in written and spoken English.  Excellent oral and written communication skills. Highly organized. Self-motivated. Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to follow through.

Preferred Qualifications: Social media proficiency. Capable of handling multiple tasks with competing priorities. Ability to meet deadlines while anticipating quickly changing needs. Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
