Goal of the Project: Hub City Farmer's Market aims to increase supply, demand, and access to healthy, local food in Spartanburg County, SC. You will develop a system for recruiting, managing, and retaining volunteers in order to increase support for the Saturday Market and Urban Farm. You will also research and implement programs that will further engage the surrounding low-income community in the market. You will also develop donation and demographic tracking processes.
Skills Needed: Community organizing, social media, data collection / analysis, strong communication skills, writing/editing, public speaking, fundraising / grant writing, proficiency in computers / technology, leadership, program development, research skills, volunteer recruitment and management.
Required Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent. Fluent in written and spoken English. Strong relationship-building, research, and organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Social media proficiency. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Experience in nonprofits, including volunteer work.
