Early Childhood Success and Readiness Coordinator

Goal of the Project: Meeting Street Academy serves students that live in poverty in Spartanburg, SC. Often, these children are not prepared to enter the classroom. You will work with Meeting Street Academy staff to develop and coordinate the Raising A Reader program for preschool classes. You will also create and implement parenting workshops to encourage early literacy skill development in the home. You will develop marketing and educational materials to distribute to families in high needs areas in order to help prepare children for the 3K program. You will also collaborate with community partners to research, create, and implement community workshops.
Skills Needed: Data collection / analysis, strong communication skills, writing/editing, public speaking, conflict resolution, community organizing, proficiency in computers / technology, leadership, program development, youth development.
Required Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Fluent in written and spoken English. Must have a passion for early literacy development for under-resourced children. Must display leadership skills and be able willing to complete a project once given an outline. Positive communication skills. Professionalism. Growth mindset. Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Education / literacy experience. Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
