Community Engagement Coordinator

Goal of the Project: Middle Tyger Community Center provides free and low cost health, education, and family support services that enrich lives and build community. You will advance the partnership effort between Middle Tyger Community Center and United Way of the Piedmont to help 2,000 families step onto the path to self-sufficiency. In order to do this, you will engage community partners and the local faith community to build participation in various programs. You will lead in the development of a senior program to provide programming to senior citizens and be charged with developing the systems and structures to allow the program to be sustainable.
Skills Needed: Strong communication skills, writing/editing, public speaking, program development, data collection / analysis, community organization, fundraising / grant writing, proficiency in computers / technology, leadership, social media, collective impact.
Required Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma. Fluent in written and spoken English. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Social media proficiency, ability to learn various computer database systems, willingness to engage with faith community in an inclusive manner.
Additional Benefits: Staff trainings and professional development opportunities. Access to food pantry, Gifts in Kind supplies (household items), and discount in thrift store. Staff counselor is available, if needed. Case Managers will assist with access to other community resources.
