Volunteer Coordinator
Focus area: Program development, community outreach, data collection and assessment, fund development

Population served: Survivors of sexual and domestic abuse

Goal of the Project: Safe Homes serves community members that have been victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. The utilization of volunteers is critical to the services we provide. As a VISTA, you will focus on our volunteer recruitment and management program, completing a strengths assessment, researching comparable programs and best practices, and implementing the results of those activities. You will need to be innovative and willing to challenge the status quo in order to help us utilize volunteers most effectively to serve our clients.
Skills Needed: Strong communication skills, writing/editing, public speaking, community organization, proficiency in computers / technology, leadership, program development, social media, volunteer recruitment and management.
Required Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Bachelor's degree or higher. Fluent in written and spoken English. Basic technology skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. A passion for using our collective voice to address the impact of domestic and sexual violence by providing quality services to those affected and to create social change through education, training, and activism.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in counseling, public health, psychology, or related. Social media fluency. Self-motivated, goal oriented, and willing to embrace a challenge. Public speaking and networking skills. Volunteer management experience.
