Technology Coordinator

Goal of the Project: Union County Carnegie Library serves as a community hub in Union, SC. The library is involved in the Public Health Indicators Taskforce and partners with SC Works, United Way, and the Union County School District to provide services for the community. Many residents of Union County do not have access to or training on how to use technology, which hinders their ability to access employment, public benefits, healthcare, and education. As our VISTA, you will create and implement an assessment tool to determine the current status of technology infrastructure. You will identify opportunities for education and develop a technology program to increase user proficiency. You will also seek funding and collaborative partnerships to address any technology infrastructure or trainings gaps.
Skills Needed: Strong communication skills, writing/editing, public speaking, information technology experience, leadership, program development, community organization, volunteer recruitment and management.
Required Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Technical certification. Fluent in written and spoken English. Experience performing IT work on a paid or volunteer basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field. Previous experience creating or leading technology education workshops. Passion for increasing technological fluency. Strong collaborative skills.
